Rookim

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026

The short version

Rookim works without an account: everything stays on your iPhone. If you choose to sign in (with Apple, Google or email), Rookim also keeps a private copy of your data in your account, so it survives a lost phone and appears on your other devices.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you. Rookim has no ads, no analytics and no third-party trackers.

What Rookim stores

Only what you add: your name and profile photo, tasks, events, habits, journal entries (text, voice notes, photos and the feelings you pick), notes and handwritten notebooks, money entries you type in (amounts, categories, accounts, bills), school classes and deadlines, wardrobe photos and outfits, content plans, workouts, and your settings.

Rookim does not connect to your bank. Money features only work with numbers you type yourself.

On your phone this information is saved in Rookim's private storage. If you use iCloud Backup, iOS may include it in your device backup, under your Apple settings.

If you sign in

We also receive your email address (and your name, if Apple or Google share it) and a random account ID, plus a copy of the content listed above so it can sync between your devices.

Sign in with Apple and Google only tell us your email and name. We never see your Apple or Google password. If you sign in with email, your password is stored, scrambled, by our account service and never in the app.

Account data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, which acts on our behalf. It is encrypted while it travels and while it is stored. Database rules lock every person's data to their own account, so other users cannot read it. As the operator of the service we can technically reach the database, but we do not read your content and only look at it if needed to run the service or to help you when you ask.

Signing out removes this account's data from that phone. Signing in again brings it back.

Permissions you can choose to allow

Camera: to photograph wardrobe pieces or journal entries.

Photos: to pick pictures you choose. Rookim only sees the photos you select.

Microphone: to record voice notes in your journal.

Calendar: to show your calendar events next to your plans, and to add Rookim events to a Rookim calendar.

Reminders: to keep your Rookim tasks in step with the Reminders app.

Apple Health: to read workouts, steps, sleep, heart rate and related measurements (and, only if you turn it on, cycle tracking) so they show in Fitness, Health and on Today. Rookim only reads from Health. It does not write to Health and never shares Health data or uses it for advertising or marketing. What Rookim shows from Health is kept with the rest of your Rookim data, and, if you sign in, in your account.

Speech recognition: to turn your voice notes into text so you can read and search them. Depending on your iPhone, Apple may process the audio to do this, under Apple's privacy policy.

Every permission is optional. Rookim works without them, and you can change your mind any time in iOS Settings > Rookim.

Style suggestions and on-device AI

On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, the outfit stylist uses Apple's on-device language model. The names, categories and colours of your wardrobe pieces are processed on your phone and are not sent to us or to any other company. On other phones, a simple built-in mix is used instead.

Sharing

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only company that handles account data for us is our hosting provider, Supabase, and only to store it for you. Rookim does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you remove it. In Rookim, open More > Settings > Privacy & data > Delete all my data to erase everything on your phone and, if you are signed in, the copy in your account.

To close your account, open More > Settings > Account > Delete account. This permanently deletes your login and everything stored for it. Copies may remain in the hosting provider's routine backups for a short time before they are overwritten.

Events or reminders that Rookim already added to Apple Calendar or Reminders stay in those apps until you delete them there.

Our website and waitlist

rookim.com has no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.

If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, the date you signed up and the fact that you agreed to hear from us. It is stored with our web hosting provider in Canada and used only to email you about Rookim's beta and launch. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address anytime at support@rookim.com.

To block spam signups, the website briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your connection's IP address. It is deleted within an hour.

The website loads its font from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to download it, under Google's privacy policy.

Children

Rookim is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on this page, with a new date at the top.
